Privacy Policy

OranguTab is a local-first browser extension designed to help users organize and manage browser tabs.

Data processed

When the user explicitly uses the "Save All Tabs" or AI categorization feature, OranguTab may process:

• Tab URL
• Tab title
• Meta description
• A capped portion of visible page text (up to 5,000 characters; only the first 1,000 characters are analyzed by the AI)

AI processing

This data is sent to OranguTab's serverless proxy and forwarded to an AI provider solely to generate categories, tags, or summaries for tab organization. Data is processed in-memory and is not stored in a database.

Data storage

• No tab data or page content is stored on external servers.
• All saved tab sessions and AI results are stored locally in the user's browser.

Logs

The server may log system errors or invalid license attempts. No page content or URLs are logged. In case of license errors, only a partial license key fragment may be logged for debugging.

Data sharing

User data is not sold or shared with third parties beyond the AI processing required for the extension's functionality.
